Twist And Shout Academy About Us

Cindy is the owner and coach of Twist & Shout Academy (TSA) and has been teaching Adult fitness, gymnastics and cheerleading for the past 20 years. She has also been the Head Cheerleading Coach at Ford City High School for 14 years. She is also a National Judge for American Championships and other Cheerleading companies. Cindy opened TSA seven years ago beginning with one squad with 12 members.

Jennifer Dowling Cheer/Dance Coach and Choreographer

Jennifer is the head coach for the new Hip-Hop Dance Squad, as well as a cheerleading coach for the cheer teams. During her summer months, she also teaches at cheerleading camps throughout the northeast for Cheerleading Technique Camps (CTC). Jennifer was on the first TSA team, and also competed as an individual throughout her years with Twist & Shout. Jennifer was a 3 time participant at the Pro Bowl half-time performance. She was the 3^rd place winner in Jr. High for the All- American Cheer & Dance competition in Hawaii, as well as the 8^th place winner of a $250.00 Scholarship during her junior year. In her senior year in high school she was the 1^st place $5,000.00 scholarship winner in Hawaii at the AACD Invitational Competition and placed 6th out of 25 at AmeriCheer's nationals. She was also a member of 4 of the 6 teams at Twist and Shout that won a National Championship.

Abbey Orr Tumbling Coach

Abbey is a coach for all four TSA cheerleading squads, and also teaches gymnastics at TSA. Abbey began teaching tumbling classes 4 years ago. She spent many years on the Armstrong YMCA gymnastic team, started cheering in elementary school, and was the captain of her varsity squad at Kittanning High School. She has coached and choreographed for youth and high school teams.

Abbey was a member of the all-girls cheerleading squad at Slippery Rock University for the past 3 years.
